A wave at full height just before it folds, seen from in front and slightly to the side, with a second broken wave running away to the left behind it.
Strongly asymmetric: the standing wave occupies the right two thirds and climbs to the top edge, while the left falls away into flat water and distance. The curve of the lip is the picture's one long line and it runs corner to corner.
Forest and emerald green in the face of the wave against ultramarine in the sea, with white and pale blue in the foam. The greens are darker and less translucent than in the other waves on the wall.
The face is built in long curved strokes following the wave's own geometry, the darkest greens laid first and the lights cut in over them. The foam at the left is scrubbed with a dry brush so the blue beneath still shows.
Oil on board. Moderately loaded, thicker in the crest. The board's edges are painted white.
No signature visible within the painted area.
