A stand of dark green scrub on a slope, with a red-brown ridge behind and tall pale grasses standing through the foliage.
The bush mass sits left of centre and is the darkest thing in the picture; the ridge runs behind it from edge to edge. A diagonal of blue shadow cuts down from the right, separating the slope from the flat ground in front.
Bottle green and emerald in the scrub, rust and maroon in the ridge, with cobalt in every shadow. The grasses are pale cream and the sky a strong blue with white cloud.
The scrub is built from short stabbed strokes of several greens laid directly against each other; the grasses are drawn through them afterwards in single pale strokes, light over dark.
Oil on board. Thick, with raised ridges in the foliage. The board's edges are painted white.
No signature visible within the painted area.
