A long plateau of red rock running the width of the picture, with cumulus above it and a green valley floor in front carrying a few dark pines.
Three horizontal bands, the plateau in the middle and dominant. It steps down from left to right and the cloud above it steps the same way, so the whole picture leans to the right.
Orange and rust in the lit rock against violet and mauve in the shadowed talus below, with cobalt accents. The valley is sap green and ochre; the sky blue with white and lilac cloud.
The cliff is laid in square loaded strokes with abrupt ends, the shadows cut in as flat unmodulated violet. The valley floor is dragged horizontally and the pines dabbed in last.
Oil on board. Moderately thick, with the weave reading through the sky. The board's edges are painted white.
No signature visible within the painted area.
