Palms against a violet and magenta ground with a pale disc of moon low at the centre right, the trees clustered to the left and thinning toward the right edge.
The crowns run along the top quarter and the trunks fall through the whole height. The moon sits in the lower right quadrant, the one circular form in a picture otherwise made of verticals, and the trunks pass directly across it.
Magenta and violet through most of the field, cooling to cobalt and periwinkle at the right. The moon is a pale rose-white. The palms are blue-black.
The ground is layered, mottled and allowed to pool, with heavy creasing left in the surface. The moon is scrubbed outward in circling strokes from its centre. The palms are flat over everything, drawn last.
Oil. Flexible unstretched support, with pronounced creases and pooled passages across the surface. Thin and layered.
No signature visible within the painted area.
