A street running west into the sunset, lined with palms, with a stand of them close at the right and a row receding to the horizon at the left.
Square. The road falls away through the lower third toward a vanishing point just left of centre; the two near palms at the right run the full height and are cropped by the top edge. A sun disc sits at the far left, partly off the picture.
Coral, salmon and apricot through the horizontal cloud, against cerulean and teal above. The land is deep indigo and violet, the palms almost black against the light.
The cloud is laid in long horizontal strokes, soft-edged and blended where they meet — much wetter and more modelled than the flat palm canvases. Fine striations run across the whole surface, drawn through the drying paint.
Oil. The surface carries directional scoring throughout, pulled across the paint while still live. Thin to moderately loaded, with no impasto.
No signature visible within the painted area.
