Five palms against a sky that runs from pink at the top to deep blue below, their crowns in dark silhouette and their trunks dropping the full height.
The crowns are set along the upper fifth at slightly different heights, and the trunks fall from them as near-vertical lines through an otherwise empty field. The pink band across the top is the only horizontal.
Coral and salmon at the top, through a pale band of cream and mint, into cerulean and a deep blue at the base. The palms are blue-black.
The ground is brushed in broad sweeping passes with the direction left visible, and scored lines are cut into it in the lower half. The crowns are blocked in as solid dark masses; the trunks are single drawn lines, thin and unwavering.
Oil. Flexible unstretched support, the paint thin enough that the weave and the incised marks read through it.
Lower right, initials only, small and in dark paint.
