A broad desert flat with a dry wash running across it, low blue hills behind, and a single yucca in the near foreground at the bottom right.
Almost entirely horizontal, with the hills along the top third and the flat opening below. The yucca is the one upright and it is pushed to the very bottom edge, which drops the horizon and makes the flat read as wide.
Cerulean sky and blue-violet hills over a pale cream wash, with sage and emerald in the scrub. The whole picture is high-keyed; there are no dark passages at all.
Broad horizontal strokes with a loaded brush, the scrub dabbed over them in short flat marks. The yucca blades are quick upright pulls of green, each one a single stroke.
Oil on board. Moderately loaded, with brush direction visible everywhere. The board's edges are painted white.
No signature visible within the painted area.
