A dirt driveway running out of the bottom right corner past a utility pole, with low hills behind and a bank of cloud lying along them.
The pole stands near the centre and reaches almost the full height — the only strong vertical, and deliberately placed where the track passes behind it. A second, smaller pole further back repeats it and sets the scale.
A deep blue sky, darker at the top than anywhere else in the picture, over slate and white cloud. The land is olive and tan; the track is a pale warm grey. Two yellow strokes in the left foreground are the only bright colour.
The sky is laid in broad flat strokes with little variation; the cloud bank is worked more actively beneath it. The pole and its crossbars are drawn in a few dark strokes over finished paint, and the wires are not drawn at all.
Oil on board. Moderately thick, the weave showing through the upper sky. The board's edges are painted white.
No signature visible within the painted area.
