Open desert in full sun, with blue-violet mountains behind, a broad green flat in the middle distance, and flowering brush — pink, ochre, green — across the foreground.
Three bands, with the mountains taking the top third and the land opening below. The pink bush at the lower right is the only incident that stops the eye, and it sits against the largest empty passage in the picture.
Violet and indigo mountains against sap green and olive flats, with a hot rust-orange band at the left and a mass of dusty pink at the right. The pink and the orange are the only warm colour and they sit at opposite corners.
Horizontal strokes throughout, laid shoulder to shoulder and following the lie of the land. The flowering brush is the exception — dabbed in short broken touches, thicker than anything round it.
Oil on board. Moderately loaded, with impasto in the flowering brush. The board's edges are painted white.
No signature visible within the painted area.
