Three tall palms against a cloudy sky at the end of a residential street, with a parked car, a hedge at the right and the sea just visible at the end of the road.
The palms rise at uneven intervals and uneven heights across the right half, their crowns well above the midline, so the picture's weight is at the top. The street runs out beneath them into a low band of houses.
Blues throughout — cornflower, periwinkle and a cold white in the cloud, with the sea a brighter cerulean. The hedge at the right is the one strong green; the car a small cobalt shape.
The sky is a mosaic of flat dabs with gaps of darker blue left between them. The palm trunks are single thin pulls of the brush and their crowns are four or five dark strokes apiece.
Gouache on paper. Matte and opaque. Unpainted margins all round.
Lower right, raypatrick, in red-brown over the hedge, letters touching.
