An orange bus crossing from the left under a tall bank of cumulus, with parked cars, a utility pole and a low parade of buildings along a wide street.
The bus occupies the left third and is cropped by the edge, which gives it the feeling of moving through rather than posing. The cloud rises directly above the empty right half and balances it; the road runs out flat along the bottom.
Violet-blue sky with white and pewter cloud. The bus is cadmium orange and is the only saturated colour in the picture; the road and buildings are khaki, taupe and olive.
The cloud is laid in flat dabs with their edges showing; the bus is a single flat orange mass with its windows struck in afterwards as dark dashes. The cars are two or three strokes each.
Gouache on paper. Matte and opaque. Unpainted margins all round.
Along the lower edge, raypatrick, in orange over the road, letters widely spaced.
