We beefing, in colour
Mersh advancing with a pistol while an enormous snarling cat-demon rears up behind him, its jaws open over his head, and four cats move at his feet.
The man stands upright and central with the creature's head filling the upper left, so the threat is above and behind him and he is not looking at it. Colour is laid only through a central band, leaving the cats at the bottom and the creature's horns as bare line.
Hot coral and orange through his shirt against violet and lilac in the creature and the ground, with acid green in his trousers. The beast is painted cold and he is painted hot.
Washes over finished ink, stopped before the edges were reached — the colour runs out at the lower left and the top right and the drawing is left showing. Treated as a colour trial rather than a finished sheet.
Watercolour and ink on paper.
No signature within the painted area.
