Tiger township
An enormous tiger lying behind a hillside town of temples and spired roofs, chin resting near the rooftops, while a man stands in the foreground looking up at it. The tiger's striped tail curls around the base of the drawing and encloses the whole settlement.
Composed inside a rough circle made by the tiger's own body and tail, with the town held in the middle like something cupped in the hand. The standing man is small and placed low, so the scale runs man to town to animal.
Black ink on white. No colour.
The tiger's stripes are brushed in as solid black shapes against fine hatching for the architecture, so animal and town are drawn in two different weights and never compete. The paper is left bare behind.
