Taipei Donuts

A man in a pale suit and sandals walks out of a donut shop with three boxes stacked in his arms and a cigarette going, while the woman behind the counter throws a peace sign. The menu board and the trays are drawn in full behind them.
A single standing figure at the left, cropped at the ankles, with the whole shop interior laid out behind him on a shallow diagonal. The boxes sit at the centre of the sheet and the counter line runs straight through them.
Pale grey-blue through the suit against the warm brown of the floor and the cream and pink of the shop, with the signage in red and white.
Open ink line with thin even washes, the floor laid in as one long dragged stroke. The faces are modelled and the setting is left flat.
Watercolour and ink in a sketchbook.
No signature within the drawn area; a date in the artist's MMDDYY hand sits at the upper right.
