Something in the room

Concept work. A man sits on the end of a bed in a dressing gown, bare feet on the floor, one hand raised — and behind him an enormous cat is stretched across the whole wall, far too large for the room. A smaller cat sits watching from the foreground and a bottle stands on the floor.
The sheet is split by scale: the real room is drawn at human size along the bottom and the animal fills everything above it, cropped on all sides so its actual extent is never shown. The man does not look at it.
Black ink on white. No colour.
The cat is laid in as solid brushed black with the fur scratched back out of it, against fine open line in the furniture and the figure. Two techniques, one sheet, which is how the scale break is sold.
Ink on paper.
Signed with the artist's name at the lower right and dated in MMDDYY beneath it.
