Seated figure in a long coat with a second study

A seated figure in a long coat, drawn in line and washed with colour, with a second study behind at the upper left.
The figure fills the sheet and is cropped at the knee, set slightly off-centre so the drawn space at the left carries the eye. The second study is smaller and sits behind the first.
Transparent washes of umber, olive and dusty rose over the drawing, with the paper left as the lights throughout. The line is a dense blue-black.
Pen first and wash second — the line is confident and unhesitating, and the colour is dropped inside it without ever quite registering with the edges, which is what gives it its speed.
Watercolour with pen and ink on sketchbook paper. Transparent throughout; photographed as a page rather than as a loose sheet.
No signature visible within the drawn area.
