Seascapes, Surfing — watercolor painting by Ray Patrick

A surfer riding a longboard across a sunset sea, drawn in pen and washed, the figure left as bare paper against the water.
The board runs on a diagonal from the lower left and the figure stands just right of centre, cropped at the head by the drawn line of the horizon. The whole lower half is moving water.
Scarlet, coral and apricot through the sea with plum and violet in the troughs, against a teal board and a slate sky. The figure is bare paper with a single warm wash on the arms.
Pen first, fast and unhesitating, with the washes dropped inside and around it in short horizontal strokes that dry at their own edges. The lights are all reserved sheet.
Watercolour with pen and ink on paper.
No signature visible within the painted area.
