Seascapes, Surfing — watercolor painting by Ray Patrick

A white-haired woman in a lilac rash vest standing over her longboard on wet sand, seen from behind, with a second figure sitting on a board in the shallows above.
The board lies as a long pale ellipse across the lower half and the figure stands on it at the right, legs braced apart. The second figure sits small at the top of the sheet and sets the distance.
Pale throughout — bone, sage and dove in the sand and water, with the vest in lilac and the limbs in a thin rose. Two small flecks of olive weed are the only dark notes.
Very lightly washed over a fine pen line, with large areas of the sheet left entirely bare. The drawing carries the figure; the colour only tints it.
Watercolour with pen and ink on paper.
No signature visible within the painted area.
