Saguaro forest on a broad bajada

A saguaro forest on a broad bajada, dozens of columns standing across the middle distance, with a blue range behind and flowering ground cover in front.
Three registers — sky, range, bajada — with the cactus field taking the middle half. The saguaros are spaced across the entire width at diminishing size, which is what carries the depth; one near column is much larger and anchors the centre.
Cerulean sky over a range of violet and periwinkle. The cactus field runs sap green and chartreuse with the tallest columns lit in lemon yellow, and the foreground carries dabs of crimson and ochre among the rock.
Laid in separate touches throughout, with the distant cactus stamped in short vertical strokes of dilute green and the near ones drawn with a loaded brush in a single upward pull. The ground is stippled over a dry wash and left unblended.
Watercolour on paper. Transparent throughout, with unpainted margins on all four sides.
Lower centre, RAYRAYISHAPPY, in black over the foreground, letters touching.
