Pussy Wrangler title card

The title card for the strip: Mersh's head and shoulders at the left in his dark-rimmed glasses, a cigarette burning between his lips and his collar open over a dark tie, with the Sugar Cookie behind him — a lit back bar of bottles on three shelves, a row of faces along the rail, and a dancer out on the pole in the upper right. The title is hand-lettered across the lower right, the double S of PUSSY drawn as a pair of breasts and the tail of Wrangler running out as a cat's tail.
Split on the diagonal: the head fills the left half at portrait scale and the room runs away behind it to the right, with the lettering taking the whole lower right corner. The pole is the one strong vertical and it sits exactly on the join between the two halves.
Warm ochre and amber through the face and the room against the cool blue-green of the bottle shelves, with the title in magenta and orange. The glasses are the only cold note in the figure and they carry a reflected drink in each lens.
Pen contour with transparent washes laid over it, the crowd and the bottles reduced to repeated marks so nothing behind competes with the head. The beard and hair are built from close directional strokes; the lettering is drawn in outline and filled flat.
Watercolour and ink on paper, drawn as title artwork.
No signature within the painted area.
