Moored boats below a steep headland

Moored boats in a harbour below a steep headland, with masts standing against a heavy sky and a red-roofed building at the foot of the hill.
The headland fills the left third and falls to the water; the boats run across the lower half as a band of pale hulls, and the masts rise through the right half as thin verticals.
Cobalt, lilac and periwinkle throughout — an almost monochrome blue picture. The headland is olive and bottle green, and the one red roof at the centre is the single warm note.
Wet and soft, the sky and water worked in the same blues so the two read as one atmosphere. The hulls are reserved paper with a dark stroke beneath each, and the masts are drawn last with the point of the brush.
Watercolour on paper. Transparent throughout, with unpainted margins on all four sides.
Lower right, RAYRAYISHAPPY, in black over the water, letters touching.
