Mersh's kittens
A group portrait. A bearded man in dark glasses and a CAT DAD shirt stands at the centre holding a kitten, one finger raised, surrounded by six women — in caps, braids, bikinis — crowding in at both shoulders. One of them is holding a drink, another a phone.
A dense pyramid of heads with the man at its apex and the kitten at the exact centre of the sheet, so the one small animal sits in the middle of all that human attention. Nothing is drawn behind the group.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Open contour throughout with hatching confined to hair and shadow under the chins, which keeps seven faces legible in one frame. The kitten gets the only soft, flicked line on the sheet.
Ink on paper.
Signed with the artist's name at the lower centre and dated in MMDDYY beside it.
