Mersh and the mechanism

Two scenes on one sheet: at the left a cat and Mersh looking up at a mounted device, and at the right Mersh clinging to the curved flank of a large machine with a tool in his hand.
Two panels butted together without a border, divided by a change of background — bare paper at the left, dense curved hatching at the right. The two figures of Mersh face one another across the join.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Open contour at the left and heavy directional hatching at the right, the curvature of the machine built entirely from line spacing. The join between the two halves is not disguised.
Ink on paper.
No signature visible.
