Landscapes — watercolor painting by Ray Patrick

A watercolour of green ridges falling away toward a blue bay, lying on a table among three other sheets cropped at the edges of the frame.
The principal sheet sits at the centre on a slight tilt and the others are cut by the top and side edges. Within it the ridges run back on a diagonal from the lower left and the water closes the upper right.
Emerald, chartreuse and olive through the ridges with dark bottle-green stipple over them, against turquoise water and a pale grey sky.
Wet throughout, the greens dropped into one another and allowed to granulate, with the darker trees stamped over them in separate rounded touches once the ground had settled.
Watercolour on paper, with a ruled pencil border. A studio photograph of several sheets together, with this one the principal subject.
No signature legible at this scale.
