Landscapes — watercolor painting by Ray Patrick

Around sixteen watercolour studies across a sketchbook spread — a large wave barrelling at the lower left, green sea cliffs and a pali at the upper right, surfers, a sunset over water, and a street of white buildings.
The two largest studies sit diagonally opposite: the wave at the lower left and the mountain at the upper right, with a dozen small boxes filling the space between them. The wave is the only study with no horizon in it.
Indigo, viridian and teal through the wave and the surf studies, against the mountain in emerald and sap green. One sunset study at the foot carries ochre and sienna and warms the whole page.
The wave is laid wet into wet so the greens and blues meet without a seam, with the tube left as reserved paper. The thumbnails around it are two or three flat washes each, stated and abandoned.
Watercolour in a spiral-bound sketchbook, around sixteen studies on one spread, dated. A studio photograph of a page with the brushes used, not a single picture.
No signature legible at this scale.
