Landscapes — watercolor painting by Ray Patrick

Around fifteen watercolour studies across a sketchbook spread — suburban houses and driveways, a car park under dark trees, a wide field road running back under cloud, boats, and a mountain thumbnail.
Small studies crowd the upper left and the right-hand column while two large ones hold the middle: a shadowed car park at the upper right and a green field road at the lower left. The road study is the only one with real depth in it.
Sage, olive and dove through the suburban studies — a deliberately unglamorous key. The field road is emerald and chartreuse under a pale cream sky; the car park is slate and umber.
Quick and transparent, the shadows laid as single flat passes over dry colour and the foliage stamped in separate touches. The parked cars are two strokes each, left white where the light catches.
Watercolour in a spiral-bound sketchbook, around fifteen studies on one spread, dated and numbered. A studio photograph of a page with the brushes and paintbox used, not a single picture.
No signature legible at this scale.
