Landscapes, Seascapes — watercolor painting by Ray Patrick

Three watercolour studies of a coastline across a sketchbook spread — a dark headland above banded water, a green bluff with surf running in, and a sunset over the same stretch of sea.
Three ruled horizontals of unequal size. All three put the land as a mass across the upper third and give the rest to water read as parallel stripes; the sunset study at the foot is the widest and the flattest.
Ultramarine, teal and cobalt through the water with the land in bottle green and plum. The sunset breaks into cadmium yellow, gold and violet; the upper right study adds ochre and umber.
Long horizontal pulls laid wet so each bleeds slightly into the next, with the darks dropped in while damp and the brightest seams left as bare paper.
Watercolour in a spiral-bound sketchbook, three studies on one spread, with ruled pencil borders. A studio photograph of a page rather than a single picture.
No signature legible at this scale.
