La Jolla 7 5 oil 600 yes seascape

A cove below low cliffs with surf running across it, the water shelving from green to deep blue, and wet reef exposed in the foreground.
Four horizontal registers — cliffs, open sea, breaking surf, reef — with the reef taking the lower third. The cliff line runs down slightly to the left, which tilts the whole picture that way.
Emerald and teal through the shallows against ultramarine beyond, with cliffs in ochre and olive. The wet reef is lavender and dove with dark rock stamped over it.
Thick and square, largely knife-laid — the surf is dragged so the colour beneath shows through its broken edges, and the rocks are flat dark planes over the wet sand.
Oil on board. Strong impasto, the board's edges painted white.
No signature visible within the painted area.
