His Honor Clarence T. Biscuits
Clarence drawn as a judge: a black cat in a full-bottomed wig and robes, gripping a gavel in one paw, set in a roundel lettered HIS HONOR CLARENCE T. BISCUITS. Clarence is one of the Bad Luck Boys rescue cats and runs through the Pussy Wrangler drawings as Mersh's.
A circular device with the cat head-on and dead centre, the wig filling the upper half and the robes the lower, so the composition is nearly symmetrical. The gavel breaks that symmetry and is the only diagonal in the drawing.
Black ink on white. No colour.
The wig is the set piece — every curl drawn individually in close parallel strokes — against flat solid black for the cat's head and a plain white for the robes. The eyes are left as bare paper, which is what makes them hold at any size.
Ink on paper, drawn as artwork for reproduction.
