He is risen
A painted cartoon. A haloed figure in robes and a backwards cap stands on a cloud above the water with a cigarette and an open-handed gesture, HE IS RISEN lettered in gold behind him. A long-haired man in a slogan T-shirt stands at the right and announces that this changes nothing, while small figures watch from a shore of crosses at the left.
The haloed figure is centred under his own halo, the sceptic is set at the right edge, and the crowd is reduced to small dark shapes along the left margin — so the sheet reads as an icon with a heckler attached.
Gold and orange in the halo and lettering against the cold blue of the water and the robe, with acid yellow in the shirt and deep teal in the cap.
Watercolour over ink with the halo laid in flat gold and the water brushed in long horizontal strokes. The lettering is outlined and filled with a gradient.
Watercolour and ink on paper.
No signature visible within the painted area.
We got the boys in the background.
