Fwoosh
The Buick under rocket attack, drawn in colour: a projectile streaking in from the left under the lettering FWOOSH, flame breaking from the car's flank, and the shots lettered KA-KAKAKA and TATATATATA across the sheet.
The car runs on a hard diagonal from lower left to right with all three pieces of lettering banked above it, so the noise occupies the sky. The rocket enters at the top left and the exhaust leaves at the bottom right.
Indigo and violet through the car against hot orange and cadmium in the flame, over a bruised purple ground. The lettering repeats the orange so the sound and the fire are the same colour.
Washes over ink with the flames worked wet into wet so they bleed, against hard flat colour in the lettering. The road is dragged with a dry brush to carry the speed.
Watercolour and ink on paper.
