Fruit flies
A cartoon drawn off the show. Three flies meet on the rim of a drain. One greets the other two as strangers, one answers with a weary hello, and the third is told to be nice. The whole exchange is conducted at insect scale over a plughole.
A near-empty sheet: the drain curves in from the right, the flies are placed small along its rim, and the balloons take up more room than the characters do. The emptiness is the setting.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Very spare open line with heavy black only in the drain pipe, and the flies drawn with individually hatched wings. More white paper is left here than on any other sheet in the run.
Ink on paper, drawn as a cartoon for the show.
No signature visible within the drawn area.
