Fashion — marker drawing by Ray Patrick

Two marker studies of a woman's face on overlapping sheets — a full head looking up at the top, and a close crop of the eyes below it.
The sheets overlap on a diagonal. The upper study is a whole head cropped at the chin; the lower abandons the face entirely and gives the whole strip to two eyes, enlarged.
Cadmium yellow and chartreuse through the face against magenta hair and a black ground, with viridian in the shadows. The lower study shifts to teal, emerald and coral.
Marker laid in broad vertical strokes that stay visible as separate strips, with the drawing cut over them in a quick black line. Nothing is blended; the colour is built by overlay alone.
Marker and ink on paper, two studies on separate sheets. A studio photograph of two drawings, not a single picture.
No signature legible at this scale.
