A standing figure in a swimsuit and a wide turquoise hat, drawn in ink and filled with marker, against a flat black ground.
Upright and centred, the figure cropped at the knee and at the hat brim, which runs off the top of the sheet. The black ground is painted as a hard rectangle behind her and stops well short of the paper's edge.
Flesh carried in chartreuse, coral and salmon — deliberately wrong — with the swimsuit in scarlet and cadmium orange. The hat is turquoise, the hair plum, and the ground a dense black with cobalt scratched through it.
Marker laid in broad parallel strokes that never blend, with the drawing cut over the top in a fast brush-pen line. The black ground is scrubbed in last, right up to the contour.
