Fashion — ink painting by Ray Patrick

A long-haired figure in a striped vest sitting astride a railing above a city, seen from behind, against a ground of magenta and cadmium orange.
The figure sits at the centre on the diagonal of the rail, which runs from the lower left to the right edge. The city is drawn in behind as pure line, and the hot ground is laid flat with no depth in it at all.
Magenta above and cadmium orange below, divided by a hard horizontal. The figure is near-black with a bare-paper vest; one stroke of viridian runs along the rail.
Marker laid as two flat fields, with the whole drawing — buildings, railing, figure — cut over the top in a fast brush-pen line. The hatching in the vest is the only modelling anywhere.
Marker and ink on paper.
No signature visible within the drawn area.
