Fallen into her skirt by accident

A cartoon drawn off the show. A junk shop or car boot sale piled with goods, where a stout woman sits amid an extraordinary quantity of stolen property — lawnmowers, televisions, birds, a monkey — while an officer relays to his sergeant that she says it must have fallen into her skirt by accident. The sergeant asks whether that covers the monkey and the pony as well.
The sheet is packed corner to corner with objects, the seated woman low at the left and the two officers standing at the right. The inventory is the composition: the joke is how much of it there is.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Every object is drawn individually in open line with light hatching, and almost nothing is filled solid, so the eye can pick through the pile. The two uniformed figures are the only ones given modelled faces.
Ink on paper, drawn as a cartoon for the show.
Lettered ROTC TOONS along the lower edge with the artist's name and a date in MMDDYY beside it.
