Exotic
Mersh holding an enormous Desert Eagle out toward the viewer, the magazine well lettered EXOTIC, with a cat on his shoulder smoking a cigarette. His face is set and his glasses catch the light.
A deliberate foreshortening — the pistol and the fist holding it are drawn at twice the scale of the head behind, filling the lower right, with the figure receding up to the left. The cat sits at the apex of that line.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Heavy brushed black for the ground with the figure reserved out of it, and the gun rendered in hard mechanical line against the softer hatching of the clothes. The hand is the most worked passage on the sheet.
Ink over pencil in a spiral-bound sketchbook.
Dated 100324 at the right.
