Dr. Retard
A cartoon drawn off the show. A team of doctors stands around a patient on a gurney, unable to diagnose him. The one at the centre arrives at a verdict — he has got a boo-boo — and the others react as though a genius has spoken.
A frieze of four figures across the sheet with the patient laid horizontally through their waists, so the gurney becomes the base line the whole group stands on. The lettered verdict sits dead centre above the patient.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Open line with vertical hatching behind the group to lift them off the paper, and solid black kept to hair and the right-hand margin. The two-word diagnosis is drawn as bubble lettering, the only soft shape on the sheet.
