Don't you even care

Two panels. In the first a bearded man in dark glasses turns away, smoking, while a woman behind him demands to know whether he even cares. In the second the view closes to his face alone, and his whole answer is one word: nope.
Two stacked panels, the upper wide and shared, the lower cropped to a single head. The balloon in the second panel is left almost empty, which is the point — the space around the word is doing the work.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Dense parallel ruling fills the backgrounds of both panels and throws the figures forward as unfilled shapes. The smoke is drawn as an open white ribbon through the dark.
Ink on paper.
Lettered Kitty City at the lower right with the artist's name and a date in MMDDYY beneath it.
