A long oil panel of a banded sandstone cliff above a desert flat, lying on a drawing board over an inked comic page reading SUSPICION INTENSIFIES.
The cliff runs the full width as a horizontal mass across the middle and steps up at the right to a dark headland. The flat below takes the lower third; one small tree at the right edge is the only vertical.
Cerulean sky going green at the horizon, over rock banded in cream, rose, umber and violet. The flat below is emerald and sage with passages of terracotta.
Loaded and flat, each band of rock one horizontal pull of unmixed colour left as it landed, with the scrub stamped over it in short separate touches of green.
