Dayton Hypernova at the bar
Two men at a bar order another round and notice a figure with towering blue hair and ironwork jewellery holding forth nearby. She demands they relinquish her seat, declares the last insult will utter them into the savage attack of Dayton Hypernova, and lets out a scream that runs across the sheet in lettering. They decide to wear it out and hope she is not yelling at them.
Seven panels. A wide bar establishing shot opens it, the character is introduced in a tall upright panel, and a hand-lettered AAAAAA runs the width of the lower row twice over. The name is lettered as a title block inside the strip rather than at the top.
Warm ochre and sand through the bar against the cold cobalt of the hair and the red and yellow of the lettering.
Loose washes over ink with the hair worked wet so it bleeds, against hard flat colour everywhere else. The lettering is outlined, filled and shadowed by hand.
