D Tractor, page 22 — that'll work

D Tractor page 22: the fire goes through everything behind them, ANNA is pushed under the line of it, and MANGE puts two rocket tubes up over his shoulder. Four of them stand in the open while the field empties; a knife goes in and something lets go across a third of the frame. Hey… Yanzi, nevermind. That'll work.
Five panels of unequal size, the largest given to the bursting body at the lower left so the page is anchored by its worst image. The small panels above carry the gunfire and the reactions.
Crimson and scarlet through the tendrils against emerald grass and cold blue sky, with the gunfire in black and orange.
Watercolour over ink with the tendrils worked wet into wet so they bleed into one another, against flat painting everywhere else. The contrast is deliberate: only the infection is allowed to run.
Watercolour and ink on paper.
