D Tractor, page 18 painted — Mersh
A close photograph of D Tractor page 18 on the board: MERSH in an orange cap and an ROTC RADIO tank top beside a man in a cat-print shirt lettered HI, the two of them standing well back from what has just happened. Shoutout to his family…
Cropped to the pair, waist up, with the balloon above them and the burning speed-lines of the panel overhead cut off by the edge of the shot.
A wet cobalt sky behind two warm figures; orange cap, white tank, and a pink and green floral shirt against it.
Watercolour over ink. The lettering on the shirts is drawn carefully and everything else is painted loose, which is the gag in miniature.
Photograph of the original page, watercolour and ink on paper.
The page is signed; the photograph is a detail.
