D Tractor, page 14 inks — the Mange
The inks for D Tractor page 14: MANGE in the cowboy hat and the tiger-stripe sleeve, head back, pouring the cup straight down his throat under the DON'T DO CORN SYRUP balloon; VITO roaring the brain-worm speech beside him, and DICK's window below with the brain and the worm coming in at the corner.
Shot along the diagonal of the sheet with the three heads stepping down it, the lettering running across the top right and the brain filling the bottom corner.
Black ink on white over grey pencil.
Pen and brush. The beards are solid blacks, the chain and the belt buckle are drawn as hard objects, and the brain is hatched like an engraving.
Photograph of the original inks, pen and brush on paper.
