D Tractor, page 10 — picking up Ethan
D Tractor page 10: the Cadillac collects ETHAN and MANGE, parks across two bays, and four silhouettes look down on a packed park. Ethan comes to the door in his helmet with a steaming green mug; JON MALIN says he'll stay on the couch. In the car Ethan takes most of the back seat — “Sorry Mange I'm a big guy” — while VITO works through a donut with Dick's window riding below the wheel.
Eight panels in two rows, the car drawn at a different angle in nearly every one so the page reads as a journey rather than a conversation. The last two panels drop to silhouettes against a wide landscape.
Hot pink and crimson through the car against a turquoise sky and emerald fields, closing in deep violet and indigo for the silhouettes.
Watercolour over ink, the car painted in flat saturated colour and the landscape laid in wet. The final panels abandon modelling entirely and are painted as flat dark shapes.
