D Tractor, Dick and Vito, the design

The design drawing for DICK and VITO, made in a spiral sketch book before the book was drawn: VITO in his ballcap, wire glasses and heavy beard, built like a door, with DICK seated in a cavity in his chest — a head with two small tentacle arms of its own, moustache and aviators, hands on the lip of the opening.
One figure centred on the page, cropped at the waist, the two heads stacked on the same axis so the small one reads as the pilot and the large one as the machine.
Black ink on white cartridge paper.
Brush and pen, no pencil visible. The armour is drawn as plates and the beard as solid black, and the little arms are the only things in the drawing given a nervous line.
Photograph of the original drawing, ink on paper.
Signed with the artist's handle beneath the figure.
