Cat on the shoulder
Concept ink. A grinning bearded man in dark glasses leans into frame with a cat riding his shoulder and a pistol resting in his hand, against a black ground broken by a spray of small marks.
The head and the cat's head sit side by side at the top of the sheet, the same size, which is the drawing's whole idea. The gun lies flat along the bottom edge and the black mass fills the right.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Dense parallel hatching through the hair, the beard and the cat's fur, with solid black kept to the background. The pistol is ruled and clean against all that line.
Ink on paper.
Signed with the artist's name at the lower left and dated in MMDDYY beside it.
