Cat Daddy and company
Mersh in a CAT DADDY shirt holding a cat against his chest and raising a finger, crowded in on both sides by six of the dancers — one in a ball cap and long plait, one in heavy glasses, the rest leaning into frame. Drawn in ink only.
A group portrait packed shoulder to shoulder and cropped at the waist, with Mersh and the cat at the centre and the heads fanning out and back on either side. Nobody is given more room than anybody else, which is what makes it read as a crowd rather than a portrait with extras.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Open contour throughout with no fill and no hatching beyond the hair and the shirt lettering — every form is carried on a single confident line. The cat is the most worked passage on the sheet.
Ink on paper.
Signed RayRayisHappy at the lower centre, dated 102625 to the right of it.
