Can I bum a cig
Outside Arizona Charlie's. A bearded man in a cap and dark glasses smokes with a cat draped round his neck, and is asked by a woman passing whether she can bum a cigarette. He says no. The cat hisses and scratches, with the sound lettered beside it.
Three figures across the width at half-length, the man at the left, the cat in the middle doing the actual work of the joke, the woman at the right drawn against a solid black mass of hair. The balloons run along the top as a single line of dialogue.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Open contour with solid brushed black reserved for the hair and the background slab, and fine hatching only in the faces. The sound effects are lettered freehand in thin line so they stay quiet.
