Behind the camera
Concept work for Kitty City. A figure in a striped suit crouches behind a large film camera on a tripod, shooting down a flight of steps, while cats in clothes and a cat-headed crew member watch from the stairway behind.
The camera lens is the brightest shape on the sheet and sits at the upper right with the operator curled around it; the steps run diagonally away to the lower left, and the onlookers are stacked along them in descending scale.
Black ink on white. No colour.
Bold solid blacks in the suit and the camera housing against close parallel ruling in the background wall, so the two main objects are cut out of a striped field. The fur is drawn in short flicked strokes.
Ink on paper.
Signed with the artist's name at the lower centre and dated in MMDDYY beneath it.
